Hi Shreetej! Your research paper was definitely an interesting read, especially because of your effective intertwining of science, philosophy, and literature. I remembered from your presentation the use of satire (“Our Ford”) in your novel, and reading it again in your presentation definitely reinforced the ironic, satirical image in my mind. Also, the identification of the Oedipus Complex and your interpretation of how his complex caused him to wipe out the concept of family as another form of satire will also give me something to work from on the AP exam. I think, after your reading your research paper, the biggest thing I gained was learning how to take risks with interpretations. Your use of literary devices such as the allusion to Shakespeare has broadened my knowledge of not only your novel, but also Shakespeare as well. The general science-oriented, utopian theme is in fact a common theme in many well-regarded novels, so your paper has definitely helped to solidify my understanding; now I have another example to use! :)
